Sunday Football!

Ah, the great joy (and stress) that is football. I can't think of a better way to bring in Fall.

The Seahawks really made me proud today! They had me worried when Hasselbeck started the game with an interception, but was happy the defense held them to just three. And continued to do so until the last quarter. And after the first couple poor drives, the Seattle offense came alive and didn't let up. Hopefully this is the beginning to a wonderful love affair all season long.

Now the very bad of the day.

Apparently the referee in the Detroit Chicago game is wanting to start  a war. To rule Calvin Johnson's touchdown catch as incomplete because he didn't "complete the catch" was just ludicrous. I understand that that is the official ruling, but if it is something that is going to be called then it needs to be consistent. There have been WAY too many catches ruled complete that have been questionable far more so than that one.
And now to keep that consistency, they will have to nitpick every catch. To rule that catch as complete would have left no one questioning it, or a very few at the least. But now the whole NFL nation on a majority will be crying foul.

And I say this because I am a concerned football fan and not just  because Calvin Johnson is one of my wide receivers on my fantasy team. :-)
